Good Woman, Clean House, And The Lie Between Them

You can read a kitchen in about two seconds.

That is a skill, and you have it, and you have had it since you were nine years old, and you did not choose to learn it.

Walk into anybody's house and you will know within seconds where she is. Coping or not coping. Steady or slipping. Somebody you could rely on or somebody with something going on.

And here is the thing nobody ever says about that skill: you did not invent it and it is not yours.

It was handed to you, along with the phrase that goes with it, in a house where the women before you had it too, and where a great deal depended on how a woman's kitchen looked to the other women.

There is a whole system in that, and it is older than you, and it has never once been examined by anybody who inherited it.

Today it gets examined, because there is a sentence in first Peter that cuts straight through it, and it is written to women specifically.

The hidden person of the heart is the real one

There is a passage in first Peter written to women about where the real person is located.

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. (1 Peter 3:4, King James Version)

The hidden part. Not the visible one. And the visible things in the surrounding verses are the ordinary markers a woman was assessed by, which are listed and then set aside.

What is being said is that the real person is in the part nobody can see, which means the part everybody can see is not where she is.

You are the hidden person of the heart, and no kitchen has ever once been where a woman is actually read. The Holy Spirit is the one present with a woman who can read a room in two seconds, and First Peter 3:4 puts the real person in the unseen part and calls it of great price.

And notice the phrase in the sight of God.

That is the assessing eye the verse cares about, and it is looking at a place that no visitor can see. Which means the whole reading system, the one you were given at nine, is running on information that the only authoritative assessor does not use.

You have a system running on information heaven does not use, and it has never once been able to see what is actually being looked at. The written word locates the value in the unseen and names the seeing eye, and the Spirit of God is the one who is with a woman who inherited a skill from the women before her.

The cost of an inherited skill

Let me name what the skill has cost, because it is not free and it runs in two directions.

Outward, it means you assess other women. Not unkindly, not on purpose, and you would never say a word. But you know, within seconds, and the knowing is a judgment even when it is silent.

Inward, it means you are assessed by yourself with the same instrument, in your own kitchen, every single day, by somebody who cannot leave.

You have an instrument pointed both ways, and the inward direction has never once had anywhere to go. The Holy Spirit is the one present with a woman who has been read by herself every day since she was about nineteen, and First Peter 3:4 moves the whole assessment to a place no instrument like that can reach.

And there is a third cost, which lands on the next one.

If there is a daughter in that house, she is learning it now, the way it was learned before, without a word being said, by watching where a mother s eyes go when she walks into a room.

That is how it moved down to you, and it is how it moves again, and the only place it ever stops is with somebody who notices it.

You are the one who has noticed it, and a chain like that has never once stopped anywhere except with somebody who saw it. The written word relocates the whole of a woman's worth to the hidden part, and the Spirit of God is the one who steadies a woman who has just realized what her own eyes have been teaching.

Leaving one thing out

So here is tonight, and it is aimed at the inward direction.

Leave one thing out on purpose and go to bed.

You are refusing to be read by your own instrument for one night, and one night has never once been too small to matter. The Holy Spirit is the one who is with a woman going to bed past something she left out deliberately, and First Peter 3:4 puts the price on what cannot be seen.

And if there is a young one in that house, let her see it out in the morning.

Not as a lesson. Just as an ordinary morning in which a thing is on the side and her mother is calm and nothing is wrong. That is the entire teaching and it is done without a single word.

You are teaching something without saying anything, and no lesson like that has ever once needed words. The written word makes the hidden person the one of great price, and the Spirit of God is the one present with a woman making breakfast beside something she left out on purpose.
